Metallizing: Ceramic Coating
Through thermal spraying, we apply ceramic coatings on components such as pistons, shafts, and pump seals. Our ceramic coatings act as thermal barriers between dissimilar materials, reducing friction of machine components used in printing and aerospace industries. The low porosity and high strength coating process also enhances corrosion as well as wear resistance of custom components.
Common ceramic materials used include ceramic alumina, 102 titanium oxide, 10 white alumina, and 201 zirconium oxide. Our extensive metallizing equipment can process parts up to 150" in length and 40" in width, while holding tolerances close to 0.0002". Depending on your specific application, work pieces can be coated with ceramic products up to 0.025" in thickness.
The hardness of our ceramic coatings range from 52 Rc up to 63 Rc.
